Latest Nippers News:
The Max Hockin competition took place on Sunday 15th June at Carbis Bay. This is always a great, fun competition and is ideal for all, but especially those fairly new to Nippers and competing. Its always a fun, energetic start to the Summer season.
It consists of a day full of different events, including wading races, a short swim race, board races, beach sprints and relays; and usually flags (or a game similar to flags). Nippers from all the different Cornish clubs are split up into teams for the day and so its a really great opportunity for our Nippers to make new friends from other clubs.
A bus laden with lively, singing (literally) Nippers and parents arrived ready to have fun in the Sun. The weather was absolutely glorious and the sea nice and calm, we couldn't have wished for better. There were approximately 40 nippers competing from Bude and around 300-400 from other clubs around Cornwall.
The day went really well, with everyone enjoying themselves and no major incidents. Some of the younger Nippers showed fantastic spirit in competition, both on the beach and in the sea. Many new friends were made this day and may well continue through the years as they continue to meet up at the different Nipper events.
Well done to all those that took part, a great day was had by all. Roll on the next competition!
